The web used to be a more colorful place, and there’s a lot of value there lost in a relentless push for sleekness. Much as Dan the Dastardly Duck has become the face of our blockchain projects and characters in that style, smol quest naturally deserved a character of its own. Given the fantasy nature of a lot of gaming, it seemed like an opportunity to craft a creature that could be as cute and creative as it was recognizable. Thus Zeppoofs were born.
Superficially, they might resemble an octopus, with eight radially arranged arms emanating from a central body. However, believe it or not, zeppoofs hate getting wet! They have fuzzy bodies and live on land. Though not capable of proper flight, their light bodies capable of gliding long distances, like a dandelion in a breeze – if they’re not wet, of course.
Zeppoofs thrive off of the energy of transdimensional travelers and thus find them eager companions of people who adventure in a myriad of different worlds. There’s no better way to be a friend to the Zeppoofs than by doing what you would already: playing games and tracking and sharing your experiences on smol quest.
Obviously, cute creatures aren’t a substitute for features either, and we’re hard at work rolling out continual improvements to the smol.quest web app, with plans for a mobile app later this year. We’ve added more ways to look at your stats and gameplay history, though we’ve made less visible changes under the hood that enable us to scan profiles faster and have the site itself run snappier.
It’s the best time ever – until things get even better, of course – to join smol quest to be a part of our growing gaming community. We promise the Zeppoofs won’t bite. Humans, anyway.
